Virtual Great Mendip Rugby Walk

When Candlelight Care’s Great Mendip Rugby Walk had to be postponed in March due to the pandemic, we decided to take it Virtual. We asked participants to complete the 6.5-mile challenge at home or whilst adhering to their daily exercise allowance during May – National Walking Month!

We provided a tracker sheet to log progress, and encouraged entrants to upload their walking selfies whilst completing the challenge to build a community feel.  It was all to raise money for St Margaret’s Hospice, a great cause which needed the funds more than ever during the Covid-19 outbreak.  The ‘Great Mendip Virtual Rugby Walk’ became one of their ‘Virtual Challenges’.

One of our participants was Lorna Kent, Registered Manager of Sherborne and Westbury, who successfully completed her challenge and raised £60 for St Margaret’s Hospice. Here she is proudly displaying her Certificate and Medal!

Well done Lorna!
