Change lives with a change of career
We welcome people who have previous experience or qualifications in care, but this is not essential as we will provide all the training and support you need. It is important that you are able to get on with people of all ages from many different backgrounds, but it is often the elderly people in our communities who have the most need for our services and a lot of the time you will be working with them.
There are certain qualities that we have identified as being essential for care work:
Are you/do you/can you?
- Friendly and caring
- Take pride in everything you do
- Honest, trustworthy, responsible and reliable
- Respectful of others
- Use your own initiative and able to apply common sense
- Work on your own and as part of a team
- Flexible within your approach and adaptable to change?
You’ll also need:
- A full driving licence and access to your own transport
- Basic literacy skills for completing care forms in the clients’ homes
You will be required to undergo a DBS Enhanced check through the Disclosure and Barring Service, which we will pay for. This is a legal requirement for anyone entering into a health or social care role.
