Keeping the Personal in your Care

Personal care is the everyday things we need to do to take care of ourselves and get ourselves ready for the day ahead. It can be daunting, and frustrating, if you or someone close to you is struggling with their personal care, and for many, it can feel embarrassing to ask for help.

Our Care staff understand that accepting intimate help can be difficult and uncomfortable for many people. As they assist with your personal care, they will do everything they can to put you at ease while respecting your dignity and independence.

Our teams can help with:

  • Dressing and undressing
  • Washing, bathing, showering, shaving, nail cutting and oral hygiene
  • Toileting, including catheter or stoma bags
  • Assisting with medication or eye drops
  • Application of creams/ointments (not involving re-dressing of wounds)
  • Fitting callipers or other surgical aids
  • Using hoists or other mechanical aids
  • Helping with any rehabilitation requirements.

Free training for family carers

As a family-run and person-centred company, we recognise the essential role that family members can play in the health and wellbeing of our clients, particularly regarding discomfort or embarrassment during personal care.

We are proud to offer our clients’ families and family carers the opportunity to attend any of our training and development course days, free of charge. This enables us to work in partnership with family carers to ensure we all provide the best possible care for our clients.
