Candlelight Wimborne raised £200 for the Alzheimer’s Society
Summer diets were forgotten this week when Candlelight Care in Wimborne held a cake sale in aid of The Alzheimer’s Society.
A huge number of cupcakes had been baked by the staff, with one staff member baking over 200 by herself. Before the cakes were sold they were judged by staff members Martine Crowther and Ian Sherwood for appearance and taste, with Donna Brewster (strawberry cake) and Kim Black (ginger cake with salted caramel topping) tying for first place in ‘The most beautiful cupcakes’; and Donna Brewster winning ‘The best tasting cupcake’ with her chocolate cherry entry.
Kim Black, Area Manager of Candlelight Care in Wimborne, said, “We are always delighted to help good causes such as The Alzheimer’s Society, and with such talented bakers a cake sale is always popular. Our diets have been sacrificed in a good cause, as we have raised over £200!”
