Children and families
There are times when parents struggle to cope with family responsibilities (e.g. after an accident or when recovering from surgery). As with all our services, the help we offer children and families is flexible and can be adapted to fit any situation.
You might need help getting the children ready for school, bathing them and putting them to bed at night, getting them to after-school activities or other commitments, shopping, or preparing their meals - all the things you would do without a second thought if you were fit and well. Our staff recognise that they are often helping during difficult and challenging times and they are trained to support children, young people and parents in the most sensitive way possible.
We are approved by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide any of our services to children and have over 25 years of experience providing care at home through our teams of friendly and professional staff. All Candlelight Care staff who work in this area receive specialist child protection training and are checked using the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This service prevents unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children and replaces the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).
We have a safeguarding children policy in place, which is available to any prospective client who wishes to view it.
