Candlelight can assist you in getting care through the Direct Payments scheme - money provided to you by Social Services for you to buy the care services you have been assessed as needing.
The scheme makes it possible for you to have more choice about the type of help and support you receive to meet your care needs.
Candlelight works with the Direct Payments scheme to offer individually tailored care packages designed to make your life easier.
HOW DOES THE SCHEME WORK?
Direct Payments give you greater flexibility and control over the type of care you receive. By receiving money direct, you get the means to purchase the support you feel you need most, from people you trust.
But you would have to employ people or commission services yourself - taking on all the responsibilities of an employer, such as payroll, establishing contracts of employment, managing sickness and leave arrangements. You will need a separate bank account and you will have to keep records and simple accounts.
HOW CAN CANDLELIGHT HELP?
You can ask Candlelight to provide your care service. You would have a contract with Candlelight and could tell us about the sort of care you need to help you live your life the way you want to.
This could include anything from 1-2 hours a week domestic help, with shopping, dog-walking etc, progressing to daily visits and domiciliary care.
If you opt to employ a carer direct, our Payroll department can assist you with tax and employment issues, taking away the stress of becoming an employer.
