Caring for Dementia
As the disease progresses, the person becomes more and more dependent on others, often elderly themselves.
Some people with dementia feel exposed and vulnerable and this is magnified if they are not able to remain in their own home.
Remaining at home helps to make them feel safe and secure and will also enable them to retain independence in their own way without the emotional upheaval and distress of having to go into a nursing home, away from everything they know and love.
