Your safety is our top priority, so it goes without saying that you and your family can be sure that we take it very seriously. All the carers supplied by Candlelight24 are fully vetted, self employed, experienced professionals.
As an organisation, Candlelight24 is registered with industry-governing bodies and has professional industry memberships. We also have stringent internal processes in place.
Company Registration
As a company we are registered with the Care Quality Commission who are the independent regulator of health and social care in England and their aim is to make sure better care is provided for everyone. Formerly they went under the name of Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
Professional Memberships
As a company we are members of the UK Home Care Association and the Social Care Association.
- UK Home Care Association - UKHCA is the professional association of home care providers from the independent, voluntary, not-for-profit and statutory sectors. Their primary aim is to identify and promote the highest standards of home care.
- Social Care Association - SCA exists to promote good practice in social care, developing ideas from practitioners about how they do their job and where it works best. They share these ideas in the practice guides that are available to us as members.
For Your Protection
We only accept a live-in carer onto our Register once all the steps below have been completed satisfactorily:
- In-depth discussions to assess the carers compassionate and caring nature as well as confirm their qualifications and levels of experience to ensure they are fully capable of providing the help and support needed by our clients
- An enhanced Criminal Record check has been obtained
- Identity, legal status and right to work in the UK has been confirmed
- At least two valid, satisfactory written references have been obtained and vetted
- Proof of levels of training, experience and qualifications have been verified
Ongoing Help & Support
Our clients and carers know that they can contact us at any time for advice, help or reassurance. We maintain our high quality service by listening to any feedback we receive. In addition, to make sure we continue to offer you a truly personal service, a Candlelight24 Manager will visit you at home on a regular basis.
Holiday / Sickness / Emergency Cover
There may be times when carers need to take a holiday, or perhaps have a period of sickness or some personal emergency. In circumstances like these we assign a replacement carer to you.
